Bulk Billing
HOW BULKBILLING WORKS AT OUR PRACTICE
We’re committed to making healthcare accessible, which is why most doctor appointments at our practice are bulk billed.
In Order to be Bulk Billed, you simply have to
- Have a Valid Medicare Card
- A Medicare rebate must be applicable to the service we provide
To maximise your access to subsidised medications and other referred services, please provide us with a copy of your current Pensioner or Health Care Card (if you have got one).
Assignment of Benefit (AOB)
From 1st July 2026, for Bulk Billed consultations, you will have the option to receive your Assignment of Benefit form by email, SMS or Hotdoc push notification to sign the form digitally, instead of printing and signing a paper form.
Assignment of Benefit (AOB) is your agreement that allows bulk billing. AOB authorises your Medicare benefit to be assigned to the doctor, so that you are not out of pocket for a bulk bill appointment.
Just like electronic prescribing, the move to digital makes managing assignment of benefit for both practices and patients a lot easier.
- After your appointment, you will receive an email SMS or Hotdoc Push Notification link to the AOB (Assignment of Benefit) form.
- You will read the electronic form and tap “Accept” to sign.
- A link to download the form is provided.
The paper form will continue to be available to sign for the patients who prefer not to receive the AOB form electronically.

Some services are not covered and will have a private fee. This includes:
- Services for patients who are not eligible for Medicare
- Some Specialty consultations
- Procedures and treatments such as skin cancer excisions, contraceptive procedures, iron infusions or Q Fever vaccinations
- Non-Medicare services such as cosmetic procedures, commercial drivers certificates, employment medicals or insurance reports
- Patients with work-related injuries or insurance claim consultations unless there is a guarantee of payment from the insurer, or we have a valid approved Work Cover claim number, or alternate arrangements to work with.
- Special arrangements, which include paying a Gap-Fee only, apply to patients with Allianz or BUPA Insurance.
We accept EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard and HICAPS when payment is required. This can be processed via our Payments System in HOTDOCS, or at reception. A small surcharge for EFTPOS transactions applies.
